Background

AMPIN Energy Transition has signed a long-term renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Air Liquide in India to supply 6.6 MW of clean energy to the company’s industrial facility in Gujarat. The agreement takes another step toward increasing the use of renewable energy in India’s industrial sector.

Under the PPA, AMPIN will supply renewable electricity from its wind-solar hybrid project to Air Liquide’s facility located in Jhagadia, Gujarat. Once the project becomes operational, renewable energy is expected to meet nearly 60 per cent of the site’s total electricity requirement. This shift to clean power is estimated to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 22,000 tonnes every year.

Air Liquide said the agreement supports its broader plan to reduce emissions from its operations in India. Benoit Renard, General Manager of Air Liquide India, stated that the partnership represents a practical step towards decarbonizing the company’s industrial assets and reducing its environmental footprint.

AMPIN Energy Transition stated that the partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to clean energy. Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Founder, Managing Director, and CEO of AMPIN Energy Transition, said the agreement supports Air Liquide’s sustainability goals and helps speed up the use of renewable energy across India’s industries.
