Background
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has begun commercial operations of a 6.6 MW wind unit that forms part of its large 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Bhuj, Gujarat. The wind segment came into operation on 11 December 2025, marking another step forward in the project’s phased rollout.
The hybrid project is being developed by Ayana Renewable Power Four, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power and fully owned by ONGC NTPC Green, the joint venture between NGEL and ONGC. NGEL added this project to its growing renewable portfolio and is helping the country move toward cleaner power.
With this latest addition, NGEL has increased its commercial capacity to 7,639.075 MW and its total installed capacity to 7,645.675 MW. The company is growing its renewable energy business by launching new projects and making strategic acquisitions.
NGEL posted strong financial results for the second quarter of FY26. Its net profit rose 130.3% from last year to ₹87.59 crore, helped by a 21.5% rise in revenue to ₹612.29 crore. The growth came from higher project output and improved operational efficiency.
The company said the new commissioning strengthens its commitment to clean energy and contributes to India’s renewable energy goals. As more phases of the hybrid project come online, NGEL aims to further increase its renewable capacity and support the country’s long-term energy transition.
