Omaxe Ltd, a prominent real estate development company, has announced its plans to invest Rs 2,700 crore to modernize six key bus terminals in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has awarded the contract to Omaxe, which will execute the project through its newly established wholly-owned subsidiary, BeTogether.

The selected terminals for the modernization project include those in Ghaziabad, Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Ayodhya, and Lucknow (Amausi). The initiative is part of a broader public-private partnership (PPP) model aimed at enhancing the state’s public transport infrastructure while incorporating modern commercial spaces.

This comprehensive transformation will not only improve passenger facilities but also create significant commercial opportunities. The project’s total investment is expected to generate revenue exceeding Rs 4,700 crore, reflecting its potential to boost both the transportation and retail sectors.

The modernized terminals will feature a blend of heritage-inspired design with contemporary infrastructure, ensuring improved convenience for passengers. Key features include automated ticketing systems, digital displays for real-time schedules, air-conditioned waiting lounges, comfortable seating with charging stations, escalators, lifts, and enhanced security measures.

Additionally, the project will introduce expansive commercial developments, such as retail spaces, food courts, banquet halls, studio apartments, office spaces, as well as ample parking and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This integration of public transport with commercial facilities is expected to unlock new opportunities for businesses and local communities.

Mohit Goel, Founder of BeTogether and Managing Director of Omaxe Ltd, highlighted that the modernisation of these terminals is a crucial step toward improving urban connectivity and infrastructure. He emphasized that the development will not only enhance public transit but also catalyze new business prospects in the region.
