Prime Highlights:
Gujarat University has rescheduled some of the undergraduate and postgraduate exams not to clash with the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) examinations.
The revised schedule affects tests already announced on November 25, 26, and 27, bringing the examination date forward to December 2.
Key Background:
Gujarat University has rescheduled the dates of exams in a manner that there are no common dates of the university as well as the GPSC exams which are going to be held in the future. This has been done to ensure that the students appearing for the university as well as GPSC exams do not have any common dates.
The rescheduling has been conducted for students of various programmes, i.e., MSc Semester 3, BA Semester 5, MA Semester 3, and BSc Semester 5. Although the exams are starting on November 20 as scheduled, the ones scheduled on November 25, 26, and 27 are being rescheduled at present. The period of examination has thus been prolonged till December 2 rather than concluding on November 29.
The rescheduling was required since GPSC exams were also being held at the same centers where the university exams were being held. This was posing logistical challenges as well as potentially making students miss their university exams and appear for the GPSC tests. In order to avoid such an incident from occurring and enable students to appear for both academic and competitive exams without undue stress, the university rescheduled.
Even though date changes were made, there has been no adjustment in locations and seating layout for the examinations. The university released an adjusted calendar prior to informing students about the changes.
With these changes, Gujarat University ensures that it is meeting the learning and career goals of the students. The revised schedule ensures that there is a level playing field for the students to excel in exams in their own respective universities as well as in GPSC competitive exams. The students are asked to read the revised schedule and prepare themselves accordingly for exams so that they have a smooth examination experience.
