Key Background
Union Public Service Commission( UPSC) has declared the result of Combined Geo ‑ Scientist( Main) Examination 2025 on June 21 and 22. A aggregate of 296 campaigners have been named for the Personality Test/ Interview, the final stage of webbing under this competitive examination.
Post the announcement of results on 25th July, UPSC has now opened the window for the submission of the Detailed Application Form (DAF) 2025. The shortlisted candidates who are entitled to file DAF must upload the same online from 29th July to 12th August, 2025 (until 6 pm) on the official website of UPSC. It is a mandatory form and is used to obtain detailed information of the candidate like academic qualification, service options, work experience, awards, and personal contact details.
Provisional candidates who failed to submit proof of qualification are being asked to upload evidence through the One‑Time Registration (OTR) module. Furnishing wrong information or not submitting the documents within time frames will lead to cancellations of candidature. Maximum care while filling out the DAF has to be exercised since it would serve as the basis for subsequent verifications at the interview stage.
After completing the DAF submission, UPSC will upload the schedule of interviews on the official website. Interview shortlisted candidates are asked to submit originals of educational qualification certificates, age, category (if any), and other equivalent certificates. The final choice will be made on overall merit through Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Personality Test. Further, UPSC will issue mark sheets 15 days from the date of announcement of final result, and those also would be put up on the website for about 30 days.
