Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented Rs 8.09 trillion Budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the state assembly on Thursday. The proposed Budget marks a 9.8% increase compared to the previous fiscal year, highlighting a significant allocation towards key sectors such as research and development (R&D), Information Technology (IT), and essential public services.
In his Budget speech, Khanna emphasized that approximately 22% of the total allocation is earmarked for development activities, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering infrastructure and economic growth. Additionally, 13% of the Budget is dedicated to the education sector, 11% to agriculture and related services, and 6% to health services.
