The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hotel group, has expanded in Gujarat by opening Vivanta Ekta Nagar and Ginger Ekta Nagar. IHCL launched the hotels during Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2025, which celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Speaking at the event, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, said, “This is a proud moment for IHCL as we open two new hotels in Ekta Nagar. It reflects our commitment to support India’s tourism sector and help develop Ekta Nagar as a world-class destination.”
Located about three kilometres from the Statue of Unity, Vivanta Ekta Nagar offers 127 rooms and suites with scenic views of the Satpura and Vindhya ranges. The hotel combines modern design with local touches and provides unique experiences like the Narmada Aarti, visits to Shoolpaneshwar Temple, and tours of the Valley of Flowers.
Ginger Ekta Nagar, IHCL’s 75th operational property under the brand, follows the company’s “lean luxe” concept. The hotel offers 151 rooms, a Qmin restaurant, a fitness centre, and a meeting room for business guests.
With these new openings, IHCL is presently running 39 hotels in Gujarat, comprising 17 hotels that are still under construction, strengthening its presence in western India’s hospitality sector.
The opening of Vivanta and Ginger Ekta Nagar is expected to boost Ekta Nagar’s profile as a top travel destination and strengthen Gujarat’s reputation as a center for hospitality, heritage, and sustainable tourism.
