Key Background :
Tata Motors has launched a significant facelift for its premium hatchback, the Altroz, for 2025. The facelift has introduced both exterior as well as technology improvements, but with its original platform and engine choices intact. The new Altroz comes with sharper looks, fresh connected LED lighting features at the front and rear, and the addition of segment-first flush door handles, giving it a modern, aerodynamic look.
The inside also witnesses major updates. The center console and dashboard have been revamped, now accommodating a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a full-color 10.2-inch digital TFT instrument cluster that can do full-screen navigation. The new two-spoke steering wheel features an illuminated Tata logo, giving a premium touch. Some other features added are touch-based HVAC controls, new seats with enhanced thigh support, and 65W USB Type-C fast charging points.
On the safety front, Tata has taken a big leap by providing six airbags standard on all variants. It also goes with the company’s efforts to enhance vehicle safety norms in India. Altroz also gets ESP, ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree camera with blind spot detection. It still remains backed by a Global NCAP 5-star rated body structure in previous crash tests.
The facelifted Altroz carries over its powertrain range, which features a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2L CNG version, and a 1.5L diesel. Transmission options are manual and automatic, while the CNG variant has the advantage of Tata’s twin-cylinder configuration, without any loss of boot capacity.
With these detailed overhauls, Tata looks to consolidate the Altroz’s position in the premium hatchback market, which competes with the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. The launch fortifies Tata’s lineup with a new yet tried-and-tested product for the cost-aware, safety-oriented customer.
